When cleaning and sealing a deck we Use steam first (245 DEGREES) to remove most of the dirt and bleached area's. we then apply our deck cleaner which lightens and shows the grain in the wood. Then go over the deck a second TIME with STEAM to bring the rich natural look back to the wood.

We then Counter sink all nails or screws to give a smooth surface to the deck. We sand any area which Shows ROUGHNESS, this happens with age .and GIVES a smoother surface so the sealer will go on AND SET INTO THE POURS OF THE WOOD FOR A STRONG BOND BETWEEN COATS. Depending on the age and previous upkeep on the deck, we usually apply 2 to 3 coats of sealer.

A WOOD HOME , LOG OR CEDAR WILL GET THE QUALITY ALASKAN CLEANER APPLIED TO THE WOOD. CLEANED WITH STEAM TO REMOVE DIRT AND BLEACHED LAYERS FROM AGE.. THE DARKNESS IN THE WOOD COMES FROM SPLASH BACK FROM MOISTURE AND DIRT CAUSING MOLD AND ROT OVER TIME.. WE STEAM WITH 245 TO 300 DEGREES WHICH KILLS ACTIVE BACTERIA WHICH HAD CAUSED THE ROTTEN WOOD. AFTER THE CLEANING IS COMPLETE WE FILL KNOT HOLES AND HAND SAND TO REMOVE THE ANY SURFACE AREA'S WHICH NEED A SMOOTHER SURFACE WE THEN APPLY THE QUALITY ALASKAN FINISH. A WOOD HOME RECEIVES FOUR COATS OF THE SHADE OF YOUR CHOICE. I USUALLY SUGGEST THE yukon STAIN FOR THAT NEWER LOOK.
